When do bash init scripts run?

After years of trying to remember when all of my bash init scripts run, asking officemates what order they’re in, or looking it up in books, I finally found a chart the lays it all out for me. BashStartupFiles1Bravo to Solipsys Limited for figuring it out and making the graph.

    I heard that some bash scripts have a kind of clock in them that makes them run at a particular time of the day or for a specific duration of time. Is this true? I didn’t think it was possible for clocks to be implemented with bash.
